Description
The Local Forum is a one-day event that brings together almost 200 high school students from across the province of Manitoba. The Local Forum is organized in collaboration with the Société franco‑manitobaine (SFM) and the Université de Saint-Boniface.
Through its fun activities and interactive workshops, students taking part in the Local Forum will get the chance to get to share a French cultural and linguistic experience.
French for the Future and SFM invites all DSFM schools and immersion programs of grades 9 to 12 to register for the event.
Local Forum Objectives
- Create cultural and linguistic relationships between participating students.
- Celebrate bilingualism and advertise the cultural and professional advantages of pursuing French studies.
- Gather students from across the province and provide them with the unique opportunity to learn about their respective cultures and communities.
- Inspire and educate the next generation on the importance and value of Canada’s linguistic duality.
